The Sacred Name of Father “No music is so pleasant to my ears as that word-father.” -Lydia Child

We honor Fathers because they protect their families from physical harm, a home that shelters families, food to enjoy around a dinner table, and clothing to keep them warm. We honor fathers for the strength they give us to do what is right and the courage we receive to face difficult circumstances. The movie “RV” starring Robin Williams, depicted the father of my children. Williams has to attend a convention and, in doing so, takes his family in a motor home over a mountain pass entailing incredible odds to bring special time together. My husband had to attend a convention in Miami, Florida, which involved making big decisions for his work; he wanted his family with him. We attended Disney World on the opening of EPCOT, witnessed the blast off of a rocket at Cape Canaveral, and drove many hours. He worked long hours with sweat and brawn just for the joy of having time with his children. He loved traveling with them and handled the embarrassment that sometimes happens as children learn.
