My Mother’s Scrapbook

I felt sad that I had thrown away many special cards given to me by my sweet parents, friends, and associates.  My dear husband always remembered me with a Valentine card and chocolates even though then three days lateral Wedding Anniversary card and gift.  Each Easter I received an Easter Card usually with the words, “It was this time of the year we first met.”  I made a promise that I would do better to remember others on their birthday, times of sickness as well as times of accomplishments.

Through a “tender mercy” I received a scrapbook my Mother kept.  As I looked through Mother’s Scrapbook with cards from people, I felt the love others had for my sweet Mother, Ellen Beus Thurgood.  There were birthday cards from her brothers and sisters, cards from members of the Church she associated with.  Cards from friends when she was ill, cards I had given to her before my marriage, invites to Ceremonies, and other MIA activities.  I loved looking at them.
