The Match

After many dates, and fun, friendships, there appeared in my mixed up life someone who had the same priorities as I did. There were four of them, a love of God, a love for me, a love for children, and a desire to serve others. He passed the tests, and seemed to appear out of nowhere, yet when I was a teenager he had borrowed my horse. I felt that I was an apple cute in two and he was my other half. After fifty years of married life, not without it’s ups and downs, and seven children, who I felt approved of my match, he was the one. We laughed, we cried, and we hung together. I feel this quote from a wise man helps understand what I am trying to say:

Because of their distinctive temperaments and capacities, males and females each bring in a marriage relationship unique perspectives and experiences. The man and the woman contribute differently but equally to a oneness and a unity that can be achieved in no other way. The man completes and perfects the woman and the woman completes and perfects the man as they learn from and mutually strengthen and bless each other. - David A. Bednar
