Our four year old son had been creating some funny, funny moments which I carefully journalized.
One night, while teaching him to pray, I said a phrase, then paused long enough for him to repeat the phrase. Each time I paused, he leaned over and gave me a kiss. It is a precious memory.
One Sunday as we were eating dinner after going to church, this same four year old, stood up and reached across the table to get a bottle of dressing for his salad. Just as he got the dressing over his plate, it slid out of his hand splattering the plate and food all over the table. The remaining six children became very quiet. His Dad stood up and started gathering up the pieces of glass, giving a short sermon on being more careful and not reaching across the table. At the end of his comment, there was a pause, it continued to be very quiet,
The four year old, then confidently said, “That was a blast, it went ‘kerplooewey’ all over the table.” At this point we all cracked up in laughter.
