Last week I talked about my dream home with the play loft, ladder, fire poll, and breakfast nook. I must now share a dream my husband had of flying. When we were married, my husband was in the Air Force Reserve stationed at Hill AFB. He loved going up in the C-119 cargo plans and flying out over the Great Salt Lake. He said to me one day after he was well established in the construction business. “If I had it to do over, I would be a pilot.” A friend of ours was building a small plane in his basement. On Father’s Day I mused, “Why not give him flying lessons for Father’s Day!” Oh, goodness, I had no idea what the future held. He was ecstatic. He got his pilot’s license and we purchased a Cessna 172. We spent Saturdays in the air. We had many crazy experiences. The flying lessons took us to a resort in Mexico, Wichita, Kansas, and on many adventures We eventually bought into a small Airport business. His dream of flying came true. The flying lessons turned into crazy, sometimes scary adventures.
