“I love these little people and it is not a slight thing when they who are so fresh from God love us.” – Charles Dickens
I knew that I loved my Grandmother, but I had know idea how much joy being a Grandmother would bring. Our first four Grandchildren were born in states some distance from where we lived. We did not understand the wonder of being a grandparent until some were born just a few miles away. Then the fun began, once again we were playing peek-a-boo, singing lullabies, and swinging Grandchildren in the air as we had done with our own babies. Once again we were reading story books and helping new little ones fresh from Heaven understand the beauty of the world around them, discovering new critters visiting the zoo and watching their eyes grow big as they gazed on a giraffe, an elephant and the hippopotamus. Like Charles Dickens, as a Grandmother I too love these little people who are so fresh from God.
