I recently found a date book that I thought belonged to me. It was blank with only a grocery list here and there until you came to the month of November 1963. Twice I threw it in the wastebasket only to hear the words, “Get it!” The second time I retrieved it, I checked out the writing in November. One of the first entries read, “Signed papers on Split-Level Home ...” Then it dawned on me, this was our first home that we built. I did not have a picture of it or an address. My husband was a Junior in college and I worked as a secretary at Hill AFB. Then it got exciting. My husband had kept a log of building our first home. It included the crew who helped him and their hours, along with what they did. It was amazing. By the end of December, we were painting and preparing to move into this beautiful home. This was a record I had forgotten and I realized why I kept hearing the words, “Get it!”.
