Someone said, “There can be no better companion than a brother. There can be no better friend than a sister.” This is so true. I grew up on a farm. My brother and I hoed beets and potatoes, and hauled hay together. He pushed the cultivator and I rode the horse. When I found who I thought was the “love of my life,” he wanted to know about him and gave me advice. I knew he loved me.
In this cute picture we were traveling across the United States to a convention my husband had to attend in Washington, D.C. At one of our stops they had this display and I was able to capture the picture of a younger sister admiring her older brother. It is always a delight to me when my children inquire about each other even though they are grown and live some distance away. “We are our brother’s keepers.” We need to be concerned and close to our siblings. I knew a a brother, with four sisters, who got together each week for lunch. What a great tradition. “There can be no better companion than a brother. There can be no better friend than a sister,” after all is said and done.
