"Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God." -Mother Teresa
It was misting rain. We were coming home from a trip to Washington, D.C. and stopped at a YMCA camp near Valley Forge. We had visited many places including Abraham Lincoln’s birth place, Monticello, the Smithsonian, and other historical sites. There were bags of clothes that needed laundered. The children were done with being in the motor home. They wanted to run on the grass and be free. Two older children an eleven year old daughter and nine year old son begged us to leave them in charge of the three younger one. “We can watch them!” they said. “Just leave us here.” We figured we would be goon one to two hours, we were at a YMCA facility and all would be well. As soon as we loaded the clothes into dryers, the misting rain turned into an eastern downpour. We quickly gathered the clothes together and drove back to camp stopping at the YMCA building to see if the children were there; they were not and no children were running in the rain on the grass. Where were they? My husband decided to look in a small rock structure that served as the swimming pool shower and restrooms. There kneeling on the floor were our five children, praying that their parents would return. You can only imagine the joy and happiness at finding them and knowing they knew there was a loving Father in Heaven who would help them.
