"Healthy Food"

“A great way to keep healthy is to eat more Chinese food.” -Chinese Proverb.

Meatless Chow Mein

½ cup butter

2 small green peppers (cut in long strips)

1 cup onions diced

1 teaspoon salt

1¼ cup of hot water

2 cups celery chopped

1 can Lochay Bean Sprouts (drain well) or 1 can mixed

Vegetables (drained well)

FLAVORING 2 Tablespoons cold water

1 tablespoon soy sauce (Kikkoman is the best)

1 tablespoon brown gravy sauce (I substitute Worchester sauce)

2 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon sugar

La Choy Chow Mein Noodles

Place butter, green peppers, onion, salt, and celery in a large sauce pan. Cook for 5 minutes. Add bean sprouts; cook till sprouts are heated through. Mix water, soy sauce, brown gravy sauce, cornstarch, and sugar. Add to vegetable mix and cook until thickened. Serve on top of La Choy Chow Mein Noodles.

This is healthy and delicious. I always like a sprinkle of Kikkoman sauce on top.
