“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual, and physical education I received from her.”—George Washington
I can say this of my mother. She not only taught us correct principles but she lived correct principles. She never argued with our father in front of us children. She was the employment specialist and believed that an idle mind was the Devil’s workshop. Before her youngest child was a year old, she gave me the responsibility of rocking her to sleep at night and went with our Father to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was very proud of her five daughters. The oldest daughter is not in this picture. I am currently typing up a history she wrote about a trip to New York to pick our brother up from his mission. Her creative writing amazes me and her attention to people and details is incredible. She had a brilliant mind and memorized the poem “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, which is very long, and “Little Orphan Annie”. She recited these to us children.
