Mother's Brownies

Mother’s Brownies

1 ½ cup sugar

¾ cup shortening or butter

¾ cup milk

3 eggs

1 ½ cup flour

½ tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda

1/3 cup of cocoa

1 cup of nuts if desired

Lightly grease 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Mix sugar and shortening. Add milk and eggs. Add flour, salt, soda, and cocoa. Mix in nuts. Bake at 375° oven for 25 minutes. Coat with Delicious Frosting if desired.

Delicious Frosting

1 square of butter

1/3 cup milk

4 Tbs. cocoa

Add butter, milk, and cocoa to medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add 2 cups of powdered sugar.
