Meatloaf Delicious
4 slices of bread cubed
2 cups of toasted breadcrumbs
1 ½ lbs. ground beef
½ lbs. of ground sausage
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 small onion
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
¼ tsp. rubbed sage
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. poultry seasoning
Sauce
½ cup of catsup
½ cup of piquant sauce
Lightly spray 9 x 13 inch pan with no stick cooking spray. Rub toasted slices of bread together in your hands to make breadcrumbs (I usually put these on top of a kitchen towel or cutting board) or crumb toasted bread in your blender. Cube bread. Place meats, cubed bread, egg, milk, small onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, rubbed sage, garlic powder and poultry seasoning in a large bowl and mix well. Divide meat mixture in half and form two oblong loafs. Roll loafs in breadcrumbs ad place in pan leaving some space between loafs. Pour ½ cup of water into the pan. Mix catsup and piquant sauce. Cover the loaf tops with half of the sauce. Keep the remaining sauce to serve with the meatloaf. Cook at 350° for 1 and ½ hour. Serves 10. Leftover meatloaf makes a delicious sandwich with dill pickle, catsup and mustard.
