1 cup sugar
½ cup margarine or butter, softened
1 egg
3 Tbs. cocoa
2 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate (cool)
or increase margarine to 2/3 cup, and stir in
½ cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ¼ cups all-purpose or whole wheat flour
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
CHOCOLAE FROSTING
2 squared (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
2 Tbs. margarine or butter
2 Tbs. water
About 2 cups powdered sugar
Melt chocolate and margarine over low heat until melted. Remove from heat; stir in water and powdered sugar.
